Janja Vidmar

Janja Vidmar has held the status of independent artist since 1996 (writer and script-writer). She is a member of the Slovene Writers' Association and the president ofthe association's Children's and Youth Literature Section.
Vidmar has received many national and international awards for her works: the Glazer Diploma 2007 for her contribution to culture, and the medal of the Union of Cultural Societies of Maribor in 2002. She was nominated for the Večernica Award 1997, 1998, 2003, 2005 and 2006. She also received the Medaglia d'oro Award twice at he international literary competition Parole senza Frontiere in Trento, Italy, in 1999 and in 2003. Her book, My Nina (Moja Nina), was selected by the IBBY Documentation Centre for Young People with Disabilities, Sandvika, Norway, within the project Important Books for Young People with Special Needs which is presented every two years at the Bologna Children's Book Fair.
